Me, being classed as obese on the fat scale, I couldn't wait to receive Peggy Frezon's book
I've known Peggy for some time through blogging,
she's even hosted Flat George at the New York State Capitol
The book's a down to earth account of losing weight with humour running through it, from the ups and downs of the emotional side and the trigger that started Peggy and Kelly on there goal of weight loss.
It makes for an inspiring read that I found hard to put down, with some great tips from Peggy, Kelly and Friends for you and your dog to lose weight.
I got the chance to ask Peggy some question's
The book has lots of tips on how to lose weight and keep it off, which is your favorite one
"Seek out support." Making any change in lifestyle is difficult, but it is so much easier when you share your struggles, surround yourself with positive, encouraging people, and also diet with a friend...even a furry friend!
How did you go about getting a publisher
I write for several national magazines, and also for Chicken Soup for the Soul books. I first published an article in Guideposts magazine about me and Kelly called The Doggy Diet. After I wrote the book, I was lucky enough to find an agent who shopped the book around to publishers. Eventually, I found a publisher who puts out quality pet books, and was thrilled when they took my book. To anyone considering writing a book, my suggestion is to first write an awesome book proposal, and then find a really good agent to represent you.
Has Kelly had any more encounters with reptiles!
I shudder as you ask! Yes, every spring and summer the snakes seem to congregate in our small back yard. Kelly loves to pick them up in her teeth and give them a good shake. It kind of creeps me out
Where you still on the way to losing weight when you started the book, or was it something you decided to write about after your goals had been reached.
Kelly has played a big part in you losing the weight, but is there a time when she just doesn't want to play ball and go out.
Kelly was basically lazy, because that was our routine together. She didn't really know that there was another way. But now, she lets me know that she can't wait to get moving. She even slaps her paw on the keyboard to get my attention and tell me it's time for a walk!
Thanks Peggy

Looks like a fun book! Finn lets me know when it's time for a walkie, even if that time is 7am on a Saturday. She knows if she's not going to work with me, the mornings equal a walk. I should have taught her that the afternoons mean a walk! I hope the book helps to motivate a little, it is a struggle for me to maintain a healthy life and I could use the motivation too!
Ah, OK, I can't figure out who is on the hefty side. Surely not you George, or Tess or even your Mom!
I is glad that you all enjoy the walkies. But you all look slim and good looking!
woos, Tessa
That looks like a good rainy day read, and we could all drop a few extra pounds in this house, fur sure! Thanks for the review :)
Wyatt's Mom
Hey Jan, I have a body which loves to cling onto every little bit of its fat........hence I totally know your pain.
Rubie also LOVES her food and is very prone to putting on weight.
Thanks for the review,
Dita
You did a great review! I had a canine companion help motivate me when I lost weight, too, and it really does help!
SHE's been calling me 'Kegs' again; but I try to take HER on walks on the time....so is it my fault?
XXXOOO Daisy (kendra & Bella)
None of you looks like you need rations! More, longer walks are the order of the day :)
Looks like a good read.
I am curious to know how the author deals with the phase of a dog's life when the dog is old and arthritic and can only walk at tortoise pace and would prefer to be snuggled up next to you on the sofa watching telly and guzzling treats!
Cheers, Gail.
Sounds like a good book to read. I must get mommy to get out for her walk cause she has been busy and missing out on her walkies and that means I miss out on my walkies too...sigh
But I'm sure this will motivate her again and ensure that I get to come along for her walkies too ;D
Love ya,
Jon Terry
JAN! GEORGE! TESS!!!! It is so wonderful to see you ALL together here, and what a fabulous idea of a book. I don't doubt that this book is not only helpful with tips that we all can take heed to, but that through the gentleness of the FURRY WORLD, we can find encouragement and strength to go on towards our goals. Loosing weight is not an easy thing to do...what a sweet post my dear and it is SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!!!!!!!! JAN YOU ARE SPLENDID!!!! Oh, those two will keep you running, that is for sure!
MANY HUGS TO YOU BEAUTIFUL ONES!!! Anita and...........BALZAC
This sure sounds like a great read! I don't need to lose any inches but Mitch's largemargebutt is getting out of control!
Love ya lots,
Maggie
I have always credited my dogs with keeping me thin! Corgis are not happy to just lie around and do nothing. They can be quite annoying if they haven't had plenty of exercise so in order to keep them happy, we walk ALOT! And I benefit as much as they do!
Very good review of Peggy's new book! Love that last foto!!!
:o)
Cute idea for a book! But I think I'd have to borrow Kelly. Bridger has no interest in going after anything I might throw. Until I'm ready to get a flock of sheep, he'd rather just lie on the boardwalk and watch me go after my own Frisbee or ball. :-) Love that cover photo!
Thanks for the very kind review! Your pictures are so absolutely adorable, George and Tess should have been on the cover of the book!
We really love Peggy's book and are lucky enough to know Peggy and Kelly in the furs!

Love the pictures of you having the book read to you. You are clearly taking it all in.
It is a great book, and you are a good interviewer asking Peggy lots of really good questions.
Love and licks, Winnie
The first photo: A wonderful, atmospheric uploaded image!
I'm thrilled.
I do not diet. I must increase. Hoover also. And mom wants to lose weight. Is there such a book as well?
Lots of love
Mischka
