Saturday Steps, The Place With Two Bridge's

"come on mom, dad, where are we?" 

"in all the times we have been coming to Anglesy we have never taken a walk to the Menai Bridge."

"is that it?"

   "No George that's a mud bank!"

"Oh Look I see it"

"no that's not the one we are going to today, you are looking at the Robert Stephenson's "Britannia Bridge" he was the son of GEORGE Stephernson the famous locomotivie engineer the bridge was officially opened on the 5th March 1850"

"It must be this one"

"yes George, come on lets take a closer look" 

"Looks big to me, so what can you tell me about it?"

"This is Thomas Telfords Supension Bridge, commonly know as the Menai Bridge. It was completed and opened on 30th Jan 1826, it was the first iron suspension bridge of its kind in the world.

"Heck it is big!!!"

"It had to be this tall to allow for the height of the ships passing under it, I think the arches are around 100 feet"

"Can we go under it and have alook at the other side"

"course we can, but you'll fine its still as big!!"

"are we going to walk across it?"

"I surpose so, as thats why we have come"

"But mom you don't like going over bridges, do yea"  

"Arr no, but its been here since 1826 so I think it will be safe, and I want to take some photo's, so I will have to get over my fear!! "

"Dad I feel a zoomie coming on"

 "gotch George, slow down its so hot you'll be sick"

"OK I do feel a bit giddy"

"Stop messing around you two lets see if we can find somewhere for a drink"

"look mom this is a little house with steps"

"this is more like it, a pub did you ask them for some water for me"

"Course I did George"

"lovely"

"you know mom I'm not feeling to good, after that zoomie and it is soo hot, I'll stop here and look after dad,

you go and take some photos"

"Ok George but sometimes I do think you and dad are in cahoots just to get another drink in"

"hang on I heard that, me and my boy never, go on we will see if you can get across the bridge!!"

"OK I'm back, I went half way across,  two halfs make a whole bridge"

"Well done mom, we got a drink in for yea"

Saturday Steps...Shrewsbury Folkie Festival

Thats where I was all last weekend, with a load of Folkie's

Here's base camp

Not far from where we camped was the second main tent,

you can see it on this photo, 

how I held back from howling at the sound checks I don't know,

my head had a mind of its own first left then right!!

I was only to pleased when they gave it a rest,

 so I could catch up on some sleep

Mom being mom took loads of photos, but I'm only letting her just put some on my blog post.
