Saturday Steps and a visit to The Mere

The Cheek of it!!!
Its my Saturday Steps not yours!! can you move please!

"George MOVE quick "

"Ok guys I'm not here to chase you so cut me some slack PLEASE!!"

Heck they were a nasty piece of work, and I only asked two of them to get off the Steps!
Anyways today we took a ride up to The Mere at Ellesmere  it has a collection of lakes a canal and woods to walk around.

But first let me show you a sign on a bin

So we had alook around
to see if we could spot the bird with Angel wing

No not there

But a while later, look there he is on the left with his angel wing, so called from eating to much bread!!

OK on to the walk

Along the main road and then down to the canal

"Hey mom look where you've got to go lol"

Over the last month you have found out a few things that mom doesn't like Bridges, large rock faces and to top it off tunnels lol!!! 80 metres this one!!

"come on mom you have to come with us"
"we have to keep together don't want you falling in!"

"See I knew you could do it"
Opps she gone all quiet on me

I like the name of this boat

Cute

If we walked a bit faster we might have caught this boat up

This lake is called Blake Mere and on the map it says that the wood on the other side is called George's Wood

Here's another one coming

"Dad whats the point in these steps,  you can't go anywhere!!"

Here we have a very good collection of Britsh weeds on steps!!

On some more

Look a Chocolate box house, thats what mom calls them, a long time ago you could get very large boxes of chocolates with photos of houses on just like this.

"MOM why are you so far behind, I don't like it when you do that"
"Dad wait, let her catch up"

That better we are all back together, now she laughing at me! she thinks I haven't seen that dog on the boat that just passed us, oh yes I have, I'm just sniffing him out.

He didn't seem bothered at all with me walking behind.
Canal boats should only go up to around 4 miles per hour, because they can erode the river bank by the wake of the boat, thats a good walking place, but in the end they got away from us.

Back to where we started

I was greeted by a full in the face kiss from Penny the Schnauzer

She was quite full on for me, Stanize look you can see I'm trying to push her away!!
The geese had me worried but she takes the biscult!!

I need a lie down after all that, its been an eventful day.

Thanks for popping by and joining me, I enjoy it when you come along

Just before you go I would like to say
Thankyou
 to

and

For awarding me

I am very honoured to receive it,
if you don't know them pop by and say George sent yea.

I'm a bit of a maverick when it comes to awards
I don't put them on my side bar, or do the duties that come with them!!!

(does that make me a bad dog!!)
I keep them all together in my memory box.

You are all inspirational to me,
 so from me to you
I award you all
The Inspirational Award

Happy 4th July to all of you that will be celebrating over the weekend.

Till next time
Have a Good Week

See Yea George xxx

More great steps George! Oh, that poor Canada Goose - I'd never heard of angel wing, though I knew bread wasn't good for birds.
Another lovely walk with Mom and Dad, so many intersting things to see.
We have a 'road to no-where' near to us, but I've never seen steps that go no-where!
Lots of love

George, I would love to come and live in one of those chocolate box houses and we could climb some steps together! Yet another beautiful walk you traveled on. Sad to see that beautiful goose with the angel wing condition. That is new to me, never heard of it before.

Thanks for another brilliant tour. SHE wants to go on a canal boat.

We thought you were toast when those geese started to circle you. Glad you got away. Can't believe they were that possessive over a step!

XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella

Maybe we'd better stop taking bread to the duck pond.

Goodness George, you had some run ins with birds this week! Some of them looked pretty tough, too. I wouldn't mess with them.

I sure like those little boats. And the chocolate box houses are adorable.

Maybe you shouldn't let Stanzie see those pictures with Penny?

Your pal, Pip

You sure had a lot of steps this time, George! I lost count of how many there were. I think I'd much rather have ridden on that boat than done the walking, because it looks really exciting. You always have the best of walks! Thanks for taking us with you!

Poor geese, we know they shouldn't have bread, but they do seem to like it. We like ours with peanut butter, hope we don't start to grow angel wings:)

Congrats on your award. We think you truly earned it. We are like you, we don't follow the rules very well either but we love those who honor us with the awards.

Have a great weekend and hope you find lots more stairs and tunnels.

Good walk, George! Those Geese are cheeky indeed!!
Stanzie is a bit worried about that Penny the Schnauzer! She looks like one of those trollops!
Stanzie will have to post some more cute pictures of herself, so your eyes won't wander elsewhere...BOL

Hey George, another great walk - my mum so green with envy AGAIN. I was very worried when those geese started ganging up on you - they can have attitude you know! I want to know if you scored any cakes out of that boat??? Or any chocolates out of that house??? I know we are not allowed to have chocs - but I love to smell em'!

PeeS: My mum is so lazy she doesn't like the rig-ma-role that comes with awards either. She likes what you do with em' but.

I was a bit jealous when I saw you with another mini schnauzer - but I'm sure you were just havin' fun. We would have fun together too George! And I know Stanzie is your girlfriend so I wouldn't step on her toes!!!

Luv ya like a sister... Tail Wuggles, Rubie.

I just love going for walks with you. although, like your mom, I wouldn't be so happy about going through that dark tunnel. Love the baby ducks though! Have a nice weekend. If you were here this weekend (well, Monday) for our Independence Day, you'd be watching fireworks with us!

Hi george!! What a fantastic walk again. Those geese look naughty, we think they can chase and spit which is very rude in our books, we love the canal and have been a few times to Great Bedwyn where there is a great canal walk too. We laughed at Penny, she does the Schnauzer Boxing like we do - she looks good fun, have a lovely weekend George and enjoy the sunshine, Dex & Lou xxx

Yes, says Gail, whatever did happen to boxes of chocolate with pretty thatched cottages on the front. Someone should bring them back!

Great job on dealing with the geese, BTW George.

George mi man, YOU are the main man. Every Saturday, I await your adventures, and you sure looked like you were going to find yourself in a PICKLE! THOSE BIRDS ARE VICIOUS!!! Oh that poor angel/winged fellow...I must remember that about the bread. Peeps feed the creatures too much of it and do you know that our American squirrels are SO ROTUND...they eat far too much bread. One came to our doorway once and left a wedge of pizza in our flower urn! THE CHEEK OF IT!

YOU ARE SOOOOOO HILARIOUS! YOU STOOD UP TO THOSE HISSING GEESE...good for you mi man...you are our HERO GEORGIE BOY! Love that Charlotte Chocolate box cottage. Oh the glory of walking in such beautiful places and the true magic would be to walk them along side both of you.....BIG HUGS FROM US ALL AT RABBIT HILL!!!!Anita and BALZAC

Hey George!
Wow, I think I say this every week...but it's so true...you have the most pawesome, amazing, fun walkies and steps ever! You must like in the most fun place. Obviously those geese haven't heard that this is your step post and not theirs. Wonderful pix!
Congrats on the award and have a great weekend!

Dear Georgie,

Thank you for the wonderful walking tour. It's sad that even as we try to do some friendly things like feed geese, we can actually hurt them. For a moment there I thought your goose was cooked. If we go to England, I want a ride on the boat called "Cake & Ale." Right up my alley.

Wishing you, mom and dad the very best from the colonies.

You always have the most beautiful walkies, George. Our mom loves the roof on the Chocolate box house!
We're not too sure about that tunnel. We know it must be cool in there but it's dark!

Love ya lots

Those are darling photos, George! And I'm not sure I'd want to walk into that tunnel so close to the water either! But I do love the narrow boats, and they make such colorful photos. You're one lucky dog, so many places to walk, so much to see! ♥

Leigh said...

Great pictures George - I felt like I was doing that walk with you. We live near a canal and now I would like to go and wander after boats like you did. Those geese looked a bit scary though. Love from Magic (and new sister Caoimhe) xx

Great adventure George! Mom laughed at the steps that went nowhere ;) She empathized with your Mom on the tunnel; as she's originally from California (earthquake land), being surrounded by old bricks would make her nervous. Very cool though! :D Luved all the canal boats! They are so cozy looking :) Doesn't a relative of yours have one of those George? Seems I remember that from a post you did a while back. :)

Congrats on the award! You most certainly are inspirational :D

Waggin at ya,

I've never heard of angel wing before... poor birds! I hope that people pay attention to the sign and get grain instead.

PS - Cakes & Ale is the best name for a boat ever!

Watch out for those smooching doggie girls! It might make Stanzie jealous!

Have a good weekend, George dear!

GEORGIE MI MAN...I see my sweet Penny and Bebe have been here.....oh dear old man, you oughta see the shenanigans in my garden...those squirrels are digging in our pots and left a HUGE French baguette in our yard! They must know a French teacher lives at this cottage! AND this one grey squirrel is living in the tree, coming down for a bath in the birdbath and then goes back to cause further shaking of the branches! But we enjoy the show, and mum loves to watch the bunnies pop their heads out of the shrubs. We even saw a mother rabbit make her nest! But mum keeps me locked up as to not cause any further ruckus!

WE SAW SOME MEAN CANADIAN GEESE AT THE PARK THE OTHER DAY! Hissing and a biting, they are trouble! STAND ON GUARD MI MAN!!!

So good to see you pop in my friends! BALZAC and Anita
