Swimming's good For Me!!!!

"Tess what are you doing! your not looking at the camera!"

Hello and welcome back to this months Tess, and the goings on in the Bell household

********

Earth Hour What Went Wrong!!!

We waited all day for it to go dark, so we could have an hour without any lights on in the house.

Then we were told that we would be doing it by ourselves!!
As mom had been asked to go into work and dad went down the pub!!

"Good job we don't mind the dark, is it mom and dad, shame on you"

Linkys

We're just drawing your attention to the links page at the top of our blog, we have been busy updating it, you will find all kinds of links from dog friendly place's to stay, Welsh Terrier web sites and we have let mom put on some of her favorites.

George's Present From Crufts

Well he did work hard all day, being patted and stroked, mom had a tip off from Tegan a blogging friend that they were selling Union Jack Collars on the Medical Detection Dogs stand and were only selling them at Crufts.

Part of the money from the collar goes to helping The Medical Detection Dogs, this is an amazing charity that helps people with lifethreatening conditions

George will be wearing his new collar when the Olympic games are on, and the Queens Diamond Jubilee so watch out for it.

Swimming's Good For Me!!

So mom say’s

"Yes Tess that’s right, some of you will have picked up over a number of posts that Tess has a bad leg. I think its time to tell you just what’s been going on.
She has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia in the left leg.
It started back in January when she was in the second week of her season, she became very stiff in her back legs I put it down to her being in pain as this was her first one, after a couple of days she got a little better but was limping.
George and Tess are never alone together, so knew it had not happening from an accident between them.
To cut a long story short, she had an X-Ray that confirmed what she has.

We were given a very strict exercise programme, and are please to say she is improving but its slow going. With luck this will carry on and she could lead a normal life. It will never go away we just have to be realistic as to want she can cope with, regarding walking. The pair of them are well insured so we don’t have to worry if at a later date she might need an op.

This is her second week of swimming and what an improvement, paws crossed this carries on. She will be keeping you updated about her progress from now on, Ok Tess over to you”

OK my condition is out in the open, I'm fine really, just get a little tired, some days I'm better than others. Mom's keeping a close eye on me so I don't over do things.

I cross my paws and pray that as I grow it will improve

It's a good job that somebody was going to support Earth Hour in your house wasn't it? Hope Mom and Dad feel guilty about that!

Love the collar George, and what a good thing to support too.

We saw your Mom and Dad last week and they told us about your poor hip Tess. Exercise is very good for you, especially swimming as it doesn't put a strain on your joints. I'mcertain Mom and Dad will do everything they can to help you - they love you both SO much.

Sending lots of love to you both, see you on Sunday.

Lots of love

Hi Tess
What a lot of news there. You and George have been busy. The special Olympics collar is ultra-spiffy, I must say.
But oh what a shame about your hip, dear Tess. We think the swimming is a great idea, and we hope you can build up your strength and that will help with your walking too. We're so pleased that you have insurance and will be able to get good treatment if needed.
But do take care Tess. And George, you'll be looking out for your precious little sister, won't you?
Toodle pip!

Hi blogging Bro' and sweet Tess,

I'm crushed to hear of your hip problems Tess, and I hope and pray that it gets as good as it can, and doesn't stop you from livin' life as it is meant! You look great in that pool, but I hope it is nice warm water!!

My peeps were in a restaurant on Sat night when they switched the lights out for Earth Hour - lucky there were little candles on the tables!!! No - before you ask - there was no doggie bag brought back for me because they are piggies and ate the lot!!!!!

Smart Collar Bro!!

I'm going to lie down now - mum gave me a Brazilian with the sharp scissors a while back - says my hair sometimes gets guggy down there - but I don't like it one bit - have to give her the stink eye for a bit now!!

Hiya George and Tess. We do love to sit down and read the monthly issues of The Tess.
Firstly we are delighted that the swimming lessons are helping you Tess. Should you ever progress onto diving Taffy says he is more than happy to give you lessons. He is an ace diver. Forward flips. you name it he can do it.

George we just love the collar and are feeling just a little bit jelly. You look very debonnaire.

We still haven't discovered what the stick field is so just bear with us a little longer.

We pray that dear little Tess can recover from this hip thingy. She is so brave. Does she enjoy the swim, or is it a bother?? Get well soon.

That was a very newsy post, Tess. Those pesky leg problems are no fun, but it sounds like your mom & dad are on top of it. Swimming is fun!

And George, You have a very spiffy collar! I'd think they should let you go to the Olympics and show it off.

Hey Tess and George!! Tess, keep up that swimming. I've got a bum hip from time to time too-- sciatica. I'm going to try swimming like you to see if it helps. And George-- you look mighty handsome in your Union Jack collar. I'm going to have to keep my eye out for something spiffy like that as a present for Chester.

Enjoy your weekend, all of you!
