"come on mom, dad, where are we?"
"in all the times we have been coming to Anglesy we have never taken a walk to the Menai Bridge."
"is that it?"
"No George that's a mud bank!"
"Oh Look I see it"
"no that's not the one we are going to today, you are looking at the Robert Stephenson's "Britannia Bridge" he was the son of GEORGE Stephernson the famous locomotivie engineer the bridge was officially opened on the 5th March 1850"
"It must be this one"
"yes George, come on lets take a closer look"
"Looks big to me, so what can you tell me about it?"
"This is Thomas Telfords Supension Bridge, commonly know as the Menai Bridge. It was completed and opened on 30th Jan 1826, it was the first iron suspension bridge of its kind in the world.
"This is Thomas Telfords Supension Bridge, commonly know as the Menai Bridge. It was completed and opened on 30th Jan 1826, it was the first iron suspension bridge of its kind in the world.
"Heck it is big!!!"
"It had to be this tall to allow for the height of the ships passing under it, I think the arches are around 100 feet"
"Can we go under it and have alook at the other side"
"course we can, but you'll fine its still as big!!"
"are we going to walk across it?"
"I surpose so, as thats why we have come"
"But mom you don't like going over bridges, do yea"
"Arr no, but its been here since 1826 so I think it will be safe, and I want to take some photo's, so I will have to get over my fear!! "
"Dad I feel a zoomie coming on"
"gotch George, slow down its so hot you'll be sick"
"OK I do feel a bit giddy"
"Stop messing around you two lets see if we can find somewhere for a drink"
"look mom this is a little house with steps"
"this is more like it, a pub did you ask them for some water for me"
"Course I did George"
"lovely"
"you know mom I'm not feeling to good, after that zoomie and it is soo hot, I'll stop here and look after dad,
you go and take some photos"
"Ok George but sometimes I do think you and dad are in cahoots just to get another drink in"
"hang on I heard that, me and my boy never, go on we will see if you can get across the bridge!!"
"OK I'm back, I went half way across, two halfs make a whole bridge"
"Well done mom, we got a drink in for yea"

Beautiful photos, George!!
George mi man,
Your mum and my mum are BOTH AFRAID OF HEIGHTS and bridges! When she was in Paris, my mum promised to climb the Eiffel Tower. Guess what...yep. She chickened out. SHEESH! At least YOUR MUM has the sense to know that this bridge has been around a LONG TIME, and just because she's on it, it isn't going to collapse! BUT MY MUM thinks that the Eiffel Tower is going to buckle when she is on it! PEEPS, I tell you.......
LOTS OF LOVE AND BE WELL, ALL OF YOU!!!!
That's a great place to be...very pretty and the bridge is beautiful. Too bad you overdid yourself and then were too tired to get on it.....silly!
I was on a bridge in my post too ..... so snap with your mum!!
See Ya bro', Tail Wuggles, Rubie.
Those were some great steps, George! We love coming to your blog and following along on your adventures. :)
What a massive and gorgeous bridge, George. I would love to see it in person...with you as my guide, of course! :-)

Oh George Mom and I just loved the bridge. It is so very beautiful. Mom says it is a true feet of engineering. I tried to tell her the bridge don't have a thing to do with feet or trains but she never listens!

George, your mum certainly captured the beauty of that bridge! Very stunning photos and also a nice new header, too!
Are these places you visit close to home or do you travel long distances to see them?
Great piccies George! Mom is SO brave to walk on the bridge - I shut my eyes when I'm in the car going over it! (Passenger, of course)
You love your zoomies don't you? Looks like you all had a grand time on Anglesey - good job you stayed with Dad to look after him, you never know what kind of trouble he'd get into otherwise!
Lots of love

Hi George
I love to LOOK at bridges, but like your mum, I too am afraid of heights. I would however, love to go on a walk with you, mum and dad. Since that is not possible, I wish to thank you for taking me along right here...
I am so happy you enjoyed meeting little Ruby... I think she may have
had more than her share of TEA... Still sleeping.
You are a very lucky lad to have such wonderful people in your life like mum and dad.
See you next week

That looks really high up! Good for you for overcoming your fear to get out there. I don't like heights either. But you got some pretty shots there!

Hey George,
Thank your mom for being brave and going out on that bridge for us and snapping all those great photos. It is so pretty there with the village and boats on the water. Thanks for sharing!
Hmm. I think I flew over that bridge once.
Great photos!
Yours,
hello George, sorry my absence.
Well, i always love your trips, this bridge is amazing!!!!! So nice photos!!!
Have a nice day.
Woof, woof,
Chicco
What an awesome view from atop that bridge! Thanks to your Mom for sharing that! You've got some pretty cool bridges over there, George. Wish they built them like that over here. We've still got a couple of local draw bridges, which seemed neat and quaint when we first moved here, but can be a bit annoying when you've got places to go and some day sailor needs to get his too tall mast through the bridge. We're working on an invention for a retractable mast :) Glad you got a pint (of water!) after all those zoomies.
The Road Dogs
Glad you had fun with the bridge George. I could do it all again too after my memories of it this year.
